This policy explains what Stellaok collects when you visit https://stellaok.com, why we collect it, who else receives it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only, not to any third-party site we link to.

The site is operated by Stellaok, which is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and UK GDPR. Privacy questions go to contact@stellaok.com.

1. Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser user agent, referring URL, requested page and timestamp of each request. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults, and are retained for up to 30 days.
Search terms. The search box sends your query to Google Search. Those requests are handled by Google under its own privacy policy. We do not log the query.
Cookies and similar technologies. See section 2. We set no first-party tracking cookies ourselves.
Messages you send us. If you email the desk, we keep the message and your address for as long as needed to deal with it and to maintain a record of corrections.

2. Advertising and cookies

Stellaok is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to select and serve the ads you see on this site.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Opting out of personalised advertising does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are no longer selected on the basis of your browsing history. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave differently.

3. Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set, using a consent notice that meets the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework and Google's EU user consent policy. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the notice, and withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.

4. Who receives your data

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting and content delivery provider, and Google as our advertising partner. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising outside the advertising cookie arrangements described in section 2. Data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and may opt out of its sale or sharing; we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these, email contact@stellaok.com. We respond within two business days and complete requests within one month. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

6. Children

This site is written for an adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

7. External links

Articles link to sources, company pages and other publications. Once you follow one of those links, that site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for their content or their data practices.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices or our providers change, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the page for 30 days.
